It is a pleasure to be a new member of the ADES - Progressio ICS volunteer programme.
This week, I had the opportunity to meet the twenty volunteers from the UK. They have come all the way to visit us in El Salvador, specifically Santa Marta, in order to be a part of this fantastic programme.
We have been able to share many things such as knowledge, about each other's cultures, musical taste, etc.
Thanks to the programme, the UK volunteers have been able to take Spanish classes, and the Salvadorans have had classes in English, which has made the communication between both groups much easier.
We have also learnt a lot about the history of Santa Marta, the Salvadoran civil war, the environmental problems in the country and also about Monsignor Oscar Arnulfo Romero, the blessed man of El Salvador.
This is a new experience in my life, I have no doubt that it will be incredible.

Semana de orientación
Es un placer para mi ser una nueva integrante del programa de voluntariado de ADES - Progressio ICS.
En esta semana tuve la oportunidad de conocer a 20 jóvenes pertenecientes al Reino Unido; ellos y ellas vienen a visitarnos a El Salvador y específicamente a Santa Marta para ser parte de este hermoso programa.
Todos y todas hemos podido compartir muchas cosas como por ejemplo intercambio de culturas, gustos musicales, etc.
Gracias al programa, los voluntarios británicos han podido recibir clases de castellano y los salvadoreños clases de inglés y eso ha facilitado la comunicación entre todas y todos.
También aprendimos a cerca de la historia de Santa Marta, del conflicto armado en El Salvador, sobre problemas ambientales en el país, y sobre el primer beato en El Salvador "Monseñor Oscar Arnulfo Romero". Y es así como da inicio una nueva experiencia en mi vida, no tengo duda que será increíble.
